Over the past fifteen years I have used Six Sigma techniques which involve top management commitment or in my case as the General Manager - myself.
You have to set a Six Sigma program in motion that asks middle managers
to tell you what works and what doesn't. Taking into account, what does the customer want and
how do we embrace it as part of our daily planning. Finally to succeed
you make bonuses predicated on the achievement of implementing Six
Sigma.
You need a Black Belt as a facilitator and program manager (usually a
consultant). It works! In one company, sales were increased $5 MM
dollars annually by employing the concepts.
The first and Second line manager, must be a participant in the program
and be rewarded for his success and commitment.
